How do I start the simulator on my computer?
- The simulator file is labeled as Transformer_Simulator_version.number_companyname.3dve. The quickest way to start it is to Double click on this file to launch the simulator. 3Dvoyager must be installed first in order for the file to launch.

After installing 3Dvoyager, an Icon is placed on the desktop. 3Dvoyager is the program needed to run the simulator in stand-alone mode. It is required to transfer the license from machine to machine. You can also launch the simulator from 3Dvoyager by opening 3Dvoyager and by clicking on file – load.
After exiting from the simulator, you will need to exit 3Dvoyager by clicking file – exit.
I licensed the computer but when I travel the simulator is asking for me to activate the license again. When plugged back into my office, it works fine. Why does this happened?
- An Internet connection is required when activating or deactivating a license. We recommend that all activations are done with the Ethernet cable plugged in. When the license gets activated, it ties itself to the components of the computer so that it becomes locked to that computer. One of the components is the network card. It uses that MAC address of the network card that was connected to the Internet at the time of activation.
We don't recommend activation using your wireless card, phone card, USB port, docking station or any other mobile connections during the registration activation. The activated network card must always be present when starting the simulator. During travel these ports are seldom available and that is why we recommend the Ethernet port for activation since it is always available.
On some laptops the power saving features will shut off the network ports in an attempt to save power. If the network port is shut off, the simulator will not launch. We recommend shutting down any power settings that attempt to shut off network cards or hard drives. Also having your laptop plugged into AC power is also a good idea.

What are some troubleshooting steps if the simulator does not launch?
- Here are some troubleshooting steps if you have problems with either installing or launching the simulator on your computer:
- Step 1. Make sure that you have permissions to install or launch the simulator on your computer. Most companies require their IT department to setup their security settings to allow programs to be installed.
- Step 2. Computers that have firewalls installed will sometimes stop you from running or installing programs. You need to allow permissions inside of the firewall to allow programs to run. The windows firewall is found under the Control panel and is called Windows firewall. Some firewalls are also active under your Virus scanners. In most cases you will require your IT department to set permissions for programs to run.
- Step 3. Microsoft updates are important in order for programs to run smoothly on computers. Microsoft .Net is required to run our simulators on a standalone computer which is available in the Microsoft updates.
- Step 4. Many computers are not using the latest software drivers. The latest drivers are required when trying to get the best performance from your software. The most important driver for our simulators is the video card or graphics driver. We recommend that the latest video card driver is downloaded and installed from the manufacturer of the video card. Most Computer manufacturers such as HP, DELL, Lenovo, Toshiba, and ACER have their latest video card driver located at their website under support or downloads. The main video card manufacturers are AMD (formally ATI), NVidia, and Intel. Drivers can also be found at their websites as well.
- Step 5. New versions of Windows, such as Vista, have a setting under User settings in the control panel called User Access Control. This needs to be turned off in order for the simulator to run. Shutting this off will allow the rest of your programs to perform better as well.
- Step 6. If users are not administrators of the PC running the simulator, they must have read/write/execute permissions for C:\Program Files\Common Files and all files/subfolders in that location. In most cases you will require your IT department to set these permissions
